The Heist
« on: May 23, 2023, 10:02:51 AM »
A return to our occasional gunfight campaign set in Dardenell County.
In this game the Da Silva gang had hijacked the Brooketown stage and hightailed it across the border to a deserted adobe on the dusty track to Jarvos. Hot in pursuit however were three bounty hunters lured by the promise of gold by the stage company.

Opening moves comprised the bandidos shooting the lock of the money box and finding a fortune in gold coins! No wonder the stage company were paying for it's return  ;)
The bounty hunters were meanwhile working themselves into position; Mitt Ford & German Bayles taking cover in some rocks to the north west and Caine Brockman working his way through a cactus patch -ouch!
The lookout on the roof, Edgar Ramirez, didn't see a damm thing.

Ford opened the action with a shot on Ramirez who was saved by the wall and threw himself to the roof, game on!
Once he had gathered his wits Ramirez pocked his head over the wall and exchanged shots with Ford - he lost and lay bleeding.
The rest of the bandidos however were a bit more aggressive; Da Silva sneaked round the western corner of the adobe to plug Bayles as he broke cover to sprint across the open ground to get closer - the realisation that handguns weren't going to cut it at long range. At the same time Fuentes & Herrera opened up and Bayles lay bleeding.

Deciding discretion was the better part of valour Da Silva called on his men to head for the rocks where the horses were saddled and get out while the going was good. This didn't work out so well for Fuentes because Brockman had now worked his way forward and put two bullets into Fuentes as he turned.

Da Silva scrambled into the rocks and turned to give covering fire to Urbina & Herrera which proved slightly hilarious because having declared he was shooting on Ford who had broken cover in pursuit he found he was out of range!  lol lol
Ford's trusty Winchester wasn't out of range however and he plugged Da Silva.

With Urbina & Herrera dragging away the wounded Da Silva the game was nearing it's end but not before the now recovering Fuentes put a bullet the leg of Brockman who had foolishly walked past the body without checking, it was a short lived victory however because Brockman turned and finished Fuentes with a bullet to the chest.

It was a fun little game. We introduced some new characters and now have a Mexican gang we can use for further adventures.

Always nice to hear from Dardenell County Ian.
Sounds like you had a nice game, with slightly fewer figures than your Successor games. :D

Sounds like they'll need to recruit some new members, though...

Great little fight and report.  Well done!

Nice game. FifteensAway asked above if the rules were Fistful of Lead. Were they FFoL or something else?
