I'm thinking of getting some March to Hell 3D printed historical ancients. I'm wondering if anyone has experience w  them and if so impressions.   I see they are quite large for 28mm but the company I plan to get them  from prints at 90% height and 80% width so hopefully end up more realistic and compatible w other historical minis.

I have not printed these specific ones, but I have printed 3dBreed Britons, Germanic and Celts. I am also working on their WWII German and American. They all seem to be similar in size and shape. However....

This pictures shows a 28mm Kardakes taken from the file and it seems like 26mm in size to the eyes. So, A little small. They are heroic scale, which means they are thicker. The numbers I use in this picture with one that is unchanged show a better size and scale, at least, to me.

Here is a top view comparison of the same picture.

Here is a frontal of a Sparabara on left, Immortal next to him. Then the Kardakes, the one changed and then other unchanged on the far right.

I hope this info helps.

The figures appear to be 28mm high, as in actual height of the figure from sole to top of head. The measuring to the eye has led to scale creep. 25mm has become 32mm over the years.

I'd be keen to see some side by side with Victrix or Wargames Atlantic Persians,

Here's a quick size comparison. Apologies for the image quality.

Left to Right: Gripping Beast plastic -> MtH print -> Warlord plastic -> MtH print -> Wargames Atlantic print. All prints 100%, no scaling.

Being heroic scale, they are a little chunkier, though nothing that looks really out of place as long as they are kept in separate units.

I really like them and will definitely be using them in future.

Hope that helps.

-J.

Hi
I just ordered and painted up some of the 15mm Romans. Here's a quick review:

The figures appear to be 28mm high, as in actual height of the figure from sole to top of head. The measuring to the eye has led to scale creep. 25mm has become 32mm over the years.

I can add something to this, due to a recent conversation with a seller of 3d miniatures on ebay. I had bought some 3d figure prints at 28mm, expecting them to be actually 31mm (1/56 scale) but when they arrived they were dead on 28mm to top of head (1/64). He confirmed that was his actual standard for 28mm, I should have ordered either Heroic or 32mm. So it seems that 3d print people do not measure to the eyes, I for one am pleased to have a spade called a spade.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.
