Author Topic: Figure compatibility of Front Rank and Wargames Foundry in the late 17th Century  (Read 1034 times)

I caught the late 17th Century bug and would like to know if the Front Rank Figures would be compatible with Wargames Foundry miniatures of the period.  I am thinking of integrating the two with Foundry figure pikemen with the Front Rank Musketeers.  Is this wise?
All comments are welcome and thank you in advance.

No. Both ranges are great but at almost opposite ends of the size range for the period. The only pikemen I would try with Front Rank are the North Star 1672 figures.

I won’t mix those in the same unit, the Front Rank would be too big!

Take a look at Ebor, designed by Paul Hicks:

They are more similar to Foundry in size and heft

Copplestone/Northstar are more similar to Front Rank:

I think the Dixon Late 1600s figures should mix with Foundry.
Warfare miniatures are on the smaller side

Blood & Plunder are big, so would probably fit with Front Rank - but are a more slender style.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the compatibility of Ebor's Great Northern War figures and Warfare Minis ?

I think they work well together. I’ll fish some out and take a pic...

Dixon work well with Foundry, but as a big bonus, whilst Foundry come in packs Dixon are available as singles.
Means you can get the figures you need to complete a unit.

Dixon's were sculpted by Mark Copplestone.
