28mm Weapons!
« on: July 12, 2023, 08:46:13 AM »
Does anyone make a 28mm 7.62 SLR Rifle, plus an Isreali Uzi sub-machine gun, please?

I'd find those useful too for my 1985 Dutch.

My best bet would be either The Assault Group, Hasslefree or Empress, if I were to start looking right now...

TAG does a FN FAL, and I believe Col Bill's does one too. Possibly also Mini Figs in their 'not winter of '79' range.

Uzi wise... Foundry did one in the 'rammage' they used to put in street violence packs. Lots with a few of those mixed weapons (desert eagle pistols, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, chainsaws, etc) come up fairly regularly on eBay, so keep your eyes out?
Think the old Wargames Factory/Warlord Game Project Z plastic sprues had a seperate uzi  on one sprue.

Hasslefree do a MAC-10 with a very distinctive suppressor if it merely needs to be generic 'uzi like'

Reaper also does an uzi in one of their modern weapons packs.

Yes - Warlord's Project Z survivor weapon sprues have separate Uzis and MAC10s.  And M16s, and AKs, and shotguns, and RPGs, and L85s...

And have you tried Full Metal Miniatures?  They sell Vietnam-era individual weapons in 28mm.  They look pretty good, too, as I have purchased a fair few.

Yes but dependent on what other damage was sustained when it lost that wheel. Four front wheels were steerable so redundancy built in. They've been run with up to two wheels missing.

The Saladin and Saracen are my all time faves. They just look purposeful.

The Stalwart slightly ruined itall  by looking like a nineteen seventies phone booth welded to a truck body.

Nice story about the Saracen...
The last Armed Forces weekend, before the plague came, there was a display of BAOR afvs. I was chatting with the bloke who owned the Saracen, when PC Plod joined us, he was an ex squaddie, and said.

"Is the handbrake on that wagon still an absolute bastard!?"

Turns out he drove it in Belfast during the troubles. They had to get the handbrake off with a giant monkey wrench!
Come and look at this said Plod, he climbed in and showed us the marks left by a savage attack from the wrench. The current owner told him, he'd wondered for years what they were!
