Big guns go toe to toe!

'Chain of Command' verses  'Rapid Fire-reloaded'.
Need the brethren's brayn power to tell me which set will give the best gaming fun, and why. I've got a copy of RF-R, getting CofC for mi' birfday.
For the last half century we've happily battled away with Gavin Lyles 'Operation Warboard'. I can't bring myself to use 'em anymore, since the demise of my long time bestest enemies, the Dynamic Dunderheads.
Right chaps, fire at will!

Not played Rapid Fire reloaded but if it is anything like the old Rapid Fire then it is designed for a larger game.

I play CoC which is designed for 1:1 scale platoon actions with various support units. Bolt Action would be a more comparable ruleset to CoC.

This is a good video to watch to get a flavour of CoC though there are lots of others.

CoC is a good system. It also excels with campaigns. See if you like this sort of action:

Very different scales. Chain of Command is platoon v platoon. Very nice system with lots of interesting player choices and fog of war.
Rapid Fire is a big battle set, although many of the mechanisms are more like a big skirmish. Always found it very vanilla

Years ago I played Rapid Fire.  Great for 15/20 mm, especially if you like getting a lot of vehicles on the tables.   As said though, CoC is a smaller scale action concentrating on Infantry with supports.  The emphasis firmly on infantry small action, when tanks do get in the table, so close to  infantry anti tank weapons…they tend not to last too long! 😉

I think on balance, especially if you played CoC with 20mm, it’s a cheaper game to play too…..you don’t need masses of armour which would save you a packet too.

For me personally, CoC wins hands down.    I prefer a game where you need to think…..whereas I enjoyed Rapid Fire (a fair bit simpler) for a few years…but got bored of it if I’m honest.

I'm with Digits on this.  I've played both a bit, some time ago, but I liked CoC better...
