When the Bravo 28mm 'Wild Geese' figures were issued, I bought them all, and very disappointing they were too!
They got stacked in the lead mountain and forgotten, recently I sold 'em, you see I'd had a great idea!  ::)
Plastic 28mm British Paras would become di' Simbas, a mixture of the same and Gripping Beast's Falklands lads. Colonel Faulkner's merry men!
A parcel of SLRs has turned up and surgery has begun. First up though is the kite. I bought a 1:72, built and painted Dak for a tenner, it looked as pristine as the first piccy on arrival. Doesn't look quite as smart now it's been fettled, though!

:)

Nice work on the Dak.

As an alternative to Gripping Beast, you could have a look at Eureka's modern range. This includes British in Aden (shirt sleeve order with Sterlings, SLRs) and Rhodesians (black and white Rhodesians with SLRs, plus opposition with all the expected weaponry). The Eureka figures are slimmer than the Gripping Beast offerings, but really look the part for Africa.

Lovely weathering on that plane.

Have you seen these from Wargames Atlantic?  Nice British para smocks with minimal webbing and packs.  They have silenced pistols for a Shawn Fynn conversion too.

What SLRs are you using?

Thanks for the kind comments on the kite, matey.
The SLRs are from Colonel Bill's, they'll do.

That DC3 looks good.  Well, it looks bad, really, but in a good way... ;)
