Reichsarmee On Parade!

Well that's it, I'm finally calling my Reichsarmee DONE! 

I started them in 1997ish, but only did ten battalions and a single cavalry regiment before abandoning them to the depths of the Lead Dungeon.  However, having re-discovered my SYW collection during Lockdown in 2020, I re-started the SYW project and among everything else, I managed to paint another 31 battalions, 5 cavalry regiments, 10 guns and a load of generals for the Reichsarmee. 

So a few weeks ago I got them out for a parade.  Here are the last few blog-posts showing my progress through the units, with the Grand Imperial Parade at Part 11:

As it happens, most of them did get on table for the Combat of Strehla last April.  The only units missing from that battle were the Franconian infantry regiments and some other bits and pieces (10 bns, 2 cavalry regts & 1 gun).

We do need to do some more Reichsarmee-heavy battles though; Korbitz, Wittenberg and Freiberg are on my to-do list.

It's like that old Prince number. Tonight We're Going to Party like it's 1997(ish). 

Really very impressive. I would have completely forgotten what colours I had painted the '90s chaps in or what basing flock I used etc. I forget what I used 6 months ago come to that, but they do look quite homogenous, in so far as a ragtag collection of micro state armies can do that is. Top marks.

Absolutely stunning and inspirational.  Lovely to see a big project get there. 

Your blog inspired my to crack on with the Reichsarmee too.  I've now amassed 22 Btns, 6 batteries and 6 Cavalry regiments, for a total of 501 figures.

They tend to fight very poorly (as per they should if the rules are doing their job) but they are so attractive in the table.
