Beja for the Sudan Wars
« on: December 17, 2024, 11:32:28 PM »
My first bases of Beja, done via a fast-paint method which I’m pleased with.
I will have 5 figures to a base, mixing up Perry metals and plastics; wholly inspired by Olicanalad’s posts and blog - although my aspirations are for a much smaller sized army.

Lovely work.

Would you be willing to share your skin tone recipe?

Hi, thanks.
The skin tone is:
Army Painter Oak Brown spray (whole figure)
2 separate coats of  GW Nun Oil wash
Highlights of Army Painter Oak Brown paint

Voila!
A fairly quick process for ‘en masse’ warband types.

Lovely work Simon. My Sudan stuff has been dug out of their deep dark cupboard of late as I'm inspired by reading Kevin Calder's Up the Nile Rules again.

Link for the Up the Nile Rules rules should you be curious:

Interesting recipe and certainly quicker than my "speed paint" method. could I ask, is the Nuln Oil the newer stuff or the old recipe please? I heard on the Plastic Crack Podcast that the "recipe" has been changed within the last year or so  ???

I'd been pondering the idea of doing Zulus with the Army Painter Spray, so glad to see it works!

Once again lovely stuff.

Couple more leader bases done.
I've now done 18 bases in all, in 6 weeks since starting - that's flippin' speedy for me!
