Romark, thanks. I'll take a look at "Pikeman's Lament". I'm normally a bit dubious about the Blue Osprey rules but will admit I hear good things about this set. I'm also looking at "Irregular Wars; Conflicts at the World's End" which is a set specifically for 16/17th century "non-European" conflict.

Regards
Hi SJWi
Check out the I Live With Cats blog,he has a very good review of the PikemanscLament rules there and he has a fan version of Quetzalcoatl Rampant rules for Aztec v Conquistador games based on Lion Rampant rules which contain lots of period tweaks.👍

Will do. My gaming group are just re-trying Lion Rampant 2 so worth checking out. My only worry bead is the figure count for LR2 which is relativley high compared to my figure collection.

Thanks for pointing me to this thread Romark! Excellent painting. I am also a fan of 3-2-1 basing, it looks especially good when the figure poses are all different.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt
