My brother is an amateur militaria collecter and has displays of uniforms weapons and medals that he sometimes loans out for local history events.
He has been asked to put on a display next June 2024 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D Day landings.
He thought it would be a good idea to have a diorama showing the two British beaches and approached me about the possibility and cost of building such a display. But that is really beyond my capabilities.
The thought struck me however that over the years many UK wargaming groups have done D-Day games and most likely there are several sets of accurate modular beach terrain boards sitting doing nothing in clubhouses, garages and attics at this moment!
The space available is an 8" x 4" table approximately.
He is after a static diorama rather than a demo game, but if someone wanted to be there to explain a bit of the history I am sure he would be overjoyed. He has told me reasonable costs would be covered.
Can anybody help?
This is a first attempt at putting out feelers, please contact me at first instance by PM.
Any questions welcome!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.
