Rivet Wars for VSF
« on: 18 September 2023, 04:35:28 AM »
Has anyone been using the models for the game "Rivet Wars" as VSF vehicles?  I just picked some up at a game flea market and they look to have a lot of potential.

No, but I can see where that would make sense and look good on the table.
They do have that VSF vibe about them.

KD 47, Yes those are the minis.  They are plastic.  I don't care for the figures but the vehicles look good.  I am in the process of removing the figures and attempting to replace them with 28mm interwar or steampunk figures.  Although at my usual rate of painting they will not see a table for some time.  Some of the vehicles have the figure integral to the model, others the figure can be removed with a little force.

I’ve considered this in the past but I’ve yet to see a copy of any of the games in the series here in Australia, I also keep an eye on Boardgamegeek’s sales and have yet to spot anything local, we’ll done getting some! I think they have merit.

Must say I admire the flea markets in Cali if that's the stuff  you can find, though even in the center of the country, there's the odd delight.

Not that I am holding my breath at seeing a copy at the local 'antique' mall.

The entire Kickstarter set was being sold by a board gamer that didn't like the game and just wanted out of it.  It was an amazing deal.  I striped all the useful models out.  The rest will end up in a bits box, or maybe a kids chess set.

Tease...  :D

Please do include comments on how the painting went.

Also, did you go with the chess set idea?

Beast,
I gave the pieces to a 13 year old kid that I thought would make the chess set.  Instead they became figures for another game.  But it is all good.

II hope to take some photos this weekend of my painted versions of the tanks and robot/walker-like things.  I will post them for your viewing pleasure.

You never know what you might find at a game convention "flea Market."  It is like eBay with out the shipping fees.
