Frying Pan & Blanket AWi figures
« on: July 04, 2024, 05:54:16 PM »
Anyone know if these chaps are still in business? I saw some notes on another forum that said they had a web presence on a site that is now defunct. I have a bunch of their figures, wonder why I went for 20mm when most of my other stuff is 15mm. I could sure use some Hessian Jagers. They hadn't produced any back when I ordered my British and American troops from them.

There is a small notion of replacing them in 15mm but the idea of painting all those troops again leaves me cold.

With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Hopefully the new owners will still accept bankers drafts, postal orders and Thomas Cook travellers cheques. The move to some form of electronic display and ordering is shocking enough. 'Tis the work of the devil and will lead to the demise of the fountain pen.

The new owners seem to only have internet via Facebook. I will have to join the dreaded FB just to get Hessian Jaegers?  :(

A few gold sovereigns delivered by an obsequious courier on a well-lathered steed should suffice to secure their engagement in commerce, one trusts.

Have you thought of using 1/72 plastic figures.  In my estimation, they mix fairly well with 20mm.  Many of my AWI "Hessians" are 1/72 7YW Prussians, from Revell.  I've used them for Grenadiers, Baum's Dragoons, Jagers, and Fusiliers.

Hmm. Who do you get your Revell figures from?

I've had mine for a long time.  But my "go to" place for 1/72 plastic figures is the Michigan Toy Soldier Store.  I don't see any of the Prussians I used on their site (either Revell or Italeri), but their website says they have Hat figures available.

https://www.michtoy.com/michtoy_search_product.php?Vendor_ID=Hat%20Industrie&Scale=1/72%20Scale%20(22mm%20or%201%20inch)&action=&Clearance=&Numbers=&Types=&Period=&Categories=&Series=&Material=&matchString=&pageNum_product=7

I don't have those chaps, but I'm going there Tuesday, and I may have to pick up a box or 2.

Thanks BillK.

Thistle & Rose bought the FP&BA figure line a couple of years ago.  As soon as I can get the artilery wheels to cast properly I'll have a price list.  (I'm so close!)  Contact us at thistleandroseminiatures at gmail.com.

You send us your order via email, we cast your order, send you an invoice for approval, then you pay via PayPal and we ship your order to you.

We have a Facebook page as our internet presence for now, mostly just for pictures.  This is a retirement 'business' for me and I am still enjoying it.

I also enjoy the intertaction with fellow gamers via email.  Since these are older lines, I've found it very helpful in learning the lines and what our customers (fellow gamers) want.

vtsaogames:  As a good example of interaction, FP&BA never got around to doing 114 Hessians Jagers.  So I can't help you with that need.  Glad you like the figures well enough to keep using them.  I think of them as bigger 15mm figures as their drill poses and basing makes them easy to base in close order formations.
