Grenadiers from 21st Panzer Division, Normandy
« on: October 03, 2023, 12:48:42 PM »
A couple of shots of some of the figures I am painting as 21st PzDiv troops, just a test to see how they come out. still experimenting on this version of the Heer camo smock (hence every one looks a bit different from the others  ;))

20mm figs (Battlefield/Blitz plus a single Wargames Foundry on the far right) with a minimum amount of milliput here and there...

Looking very good Arshak. I’m slowly working on my 21st in 15mm but had come to a halt when planning the range of camouflage/uniforms I’d need to paint  :o

Keep up the good work,

Andrew

I like those, and very much like your scene setting

Thanks to everyone!

Fred, the setting was just a try, in a way it helped me to mask that the bases are unfinished, I still have to find a solution that satisfies me...

Andrew, at the moment I have finished or nearly finished about 18 figs, throwing in a few in Feldgrau and some other in Zeltbahn I am aiming at a platoon plus additions, as I would like to try KG von Luck for Chain of Command, one day (now, if only I could find someone to game with here...).
After that, would like to do the same with some Panzer Lehr, let's see ...

Some additions, trying to exploit some sunny days here in Vienna (although I am not happy with the photos, the blending regularly comes out quite flattened, the figures are a bit better in the flesh)..

Apologies for the unfinished bases, I will base them all together (but I am still exploring to find a solution that satisfies me).

At any rate, here they are. A squad leader with some Grenadiers (a Foundry figure on the left -with modified rifle- a Blitz and an old Grossdeutschland figure from Battlefield)

A group shot of a few figures

A couple of lMG

Seconded- they’re lovely characterful models (Foundry is always good at that :D ) and you’ve really done them justice by the looks of things!

Thanks a lot. The figures are a mix of various manufacturers, i.e. Battlefield/Blitz, Foundry, and Fantassin, but, indeed, the idea of the 21st PzDiv. came to my mind in order to use figures with smock starting with two Foundry ones, i.e. the shooting one on the right of the first two photos and that on the far left in the third photo…both had their rifle re-worked (the original is a bit too short and thick)…a third Foundry figure is that with rifle grenade in the fourth photo…
