Absolutely spiffing. Particularly liked the Martian Emperor on the balcony.

Are the walkers with the spheres scratchbuilt?

Too right!

Are the walkers with the spheres scratchbuilt?

Look to me like modified Syndrome's Omnidroids from The Incredibles, perhaps the MickieD Happy Meal toys? I had some, and never got them on the table before losing my 'stuff', but if right, I'm delighted they DO look that good as I assumed.

I haven't figured out their small brothers, have you?

The spheres are indeed the McD's toy.  I have one languishing on the shelf, waiting for my attention.

The smaller tripod walkers look like the old Parroom Station Martian Walkers (still available from Ral Partha Legacy?), but as the only view here is from the back, I'm not sure.

It may be due to angle of view, but I don't think any of the RPL stuff matches either the larger or smaller walkers.

That said, I do see that the list onsite refers to the larger at 'open canopy', so the originals may have included a different design..

Still all fun, no?

The three smallest models in that first picture are most definitely old Parroom Station Crawlers, one with "smoker" and two with "heat ray" (and they each have a PS Cephalid model on the same base).  The bigger ones have the exact legs as the Cephalid Walkers, and based on the presence of the others and the fact that they have the right legs, I'd bet the larger walkers are from the same line.

Can't quite figure out the bits added to the tops of the McD's toys - flip caps from plastic bottles?  Would like to get a front view to see what they were armed with.  Got a rotary cannon-thingy on my own unfinished model.
