Take the High Road: TMWWBK AAR for the Boshin War
« on: October 06, 2023, 08:49:51 AM »
Another week, another game, this time back to The Men Who Would Be Kings, with a 36-point Shogunate force trying to capture a hill from 27 points of Imperials.

One thing that I flagged up before playing is that certain traits have ambiguous wording, which I mention at the end of the post. In short,

  • Does Brave (remove a Pinned marker for free before activation) apply every turn, or only once per game?
  • Should Lucky only apply to rolls that affect the unit whose Leader has the trait, rather than any dice at any point?
  • Do Idiots still test if they are only trying to Stand To?

In my view, Brave does apply every turn, Lucky should only be for the unit with the trait, and Idiots should always test, but I'm curious how others have interpreted these. Though I suppose that's more a question for the Colonial board  :)
