I bought this cheap and cheerful set plus some metallic colours and a couple of bright red pens.

Got the AK pens on the way that I expect to be even better than these.

It feels weird to begin with but I was really surprised. I’ve done one figure so far as well as a test . I cracked all of the figure except the face. I’m going to source some finer and better flesh colours next.

Will knock up a base for this tomorrow . 👍

I fancy using this for Op Sealion too so no modern grafitti planned to be added.

I have almost, very nearly, finished a scratchbuilt block of flats I've been toying with for over a year. It's three miniature wooden dolls' houses purchased at a hardware store, glued together in a row. I've then attached plastic card sheeting to front, rear and one side with the remaining side covered in brick textured plastic sheeting.

When I consider the cost of the doll house formers,  the block of HDF to raise the height, the plastic sheeting, the plastic shapes used to provide texture, the plastic tubing used as guttering and down pipes, the Peco windows used on the rear facing and whatever I end up using for rooofing (last bit to do) I realise the damn thing will have cost more than an MDF kit and be arguably no better looking than an MDF kit. That's not counting the high density foam sheet I originally intended for the facade that I buggered up in my execution and discarded.

Then I consider I bought at least another two doll houses and about half a dozen (much cheaper) wooden bird feeder houses. I'm dreading dealing with those. In my defence there are very few, if any, three storey gabled roof MDF kits out there.

In the meantime you have constructed an entire bloody town.

8 storeys or higher ?? Could go to 10 or make another five storey tower from what I have left ?? I could paint the second the same way giving me the option to extend it if I use a lower table somewhere?

It’s already taller than the car park . 🤔

Well, damn. “Beast” seems a bit of an understatement.

If it were me, I would definitely get/ make a second ground floor, paint everything the same, and have the option to use it as two moderately huge buildings or as a single completely ludicrous monster… but then, I lack the vision and means to achieve what you’ve already done.
