Yeah I’ve been careful to not mark it for single use , just a spot of grafitti so can be multi use .

One area of use planned is to be positioned at the one end of a certain  road …. where a certain embassy siege took place. More on that soon!

Quite right. Pubs are as often as not the heart of any community. Nabbing the pub allows for community engagement, hearts 'n' minds stuff. Also deprives the bad buggers of beer barrels, bombs for making thereof.   See there is some sort of rationale for it. 

Not that I would expect yer average Fenian to be drinking in somewhere called the Queen's Head. That said, I used to be a regular at The Normandy, an Irish Pub not far from my old place. Not of the franchised, plastic horse brasses and green beer on Paddy's day variety but somewhere inhabited by all the Irish expats, mostly off building sites and replete with a céilí band doing tiddly-tye-to music in the front bar. Mein hosts were an Albanian couple, which was why it was also known as The County Albania by the locals.

It used to cause me no end of amusement that behind the bar, slap bang centre on the middle shelf, in a very prominent position was a bottle that proclaimed itself to be 'Oliver Cromwell Port'*, replete with a picture of the great man himself on the label.  I never saw anyone order a dram of ths rather dubious tipple, so its only function was decorative. One can but assume that attitudes have softened over the years. 


* As God is my witness this is true and I have never seen another example of this ambrosian nectar before or since. Pub closed years back and was turned into a ghastly cafe. Always wished I had purchased the bottle.
