Paul: thanks. I agree. Because I'm not gaming, I'm not under pressure to create an army by any particular time.

Here are the last of the pikemen. As before, the figures are converted by Brian and painted by Andrew, who also took the photo.

Wow! They are stunning.  Love the armour especially.  A very nice worn look.

Andy: that's very kind. many thanks. Only a mounted officer and a regimental gun to go for this unit.

Schoey: many thanks.

Andy: I wouldn't get too excited. The gun crew is Warlord, straight out of the box. The Warlord crew comes with a leather cannon. While a leather cannon is perfect for the wars of the 1620s, it's my understanding that the Swedes had probably stopped using leather cannons by the time of the TYW, so I've substituted a small Foundry gun with a conventional barrel.

Please allow me to add my voice to the chorus of admiration and envy.

At first I was surprised to learn that these aren't for gaming, but then remembered that toy soldier collecting is as old as the flintlock.

I also didn't know that there was someone accepting commissions to convert and customize figures. Please could you tell me more about him?

Another question I would like to ask is whether the painter you used is the same Andrew Taylor as the owner of this blog? https://andrewtaylorpainting.wordpress.com/

Because the painting style seems very different.

Zenza Raggi: many thanks for your kind comments. Much appreciated.
If you want to see more of Brian's work, a good place to start might well be Bloody Miniatures' website. Brian has converted a number of Bloody Miniatures figures which have appeared from time to time in their newsletters.
It is the same Andrew Taylor. He runs Antediluvian Miniatures. Andrew claims to be able to paint in different styles. On occasion, I've thought about adding figures to units painted by others where the original painter is no longer available (left the hobby or, in two cases, sadly dead) and Andrew has said that he could paint the figures in a matching style. I've never put him to the test, however.
