Eriador as depicted in the One Ring Rpg (Corsair Captain)
« on: October 26, 2023, 05:12:14 AM »
I have finally gotten around to starting my dream project, my vision of middle earth for skirmish games and rpgs. The scope of the project being Eriador specifically presented in The One Ring Rpg 2nd edition. Here’s some of the first finished minis for it a dwarf of the blue mountains and an orc of Mount gram, a hobbit burglar, and a few others. Right now I had mainly been using northstar and recycling from my hobby junk drawer. But I recently got a few victrix kits to represent various men of Eriador.

Planning on playing Frostgrave and 5 Leagues from the Borderlands which I have so far. Thinking about getting spellswords and spellslingers, song of blades and heroes and lion rampant.

Brilliant stuff. I’ve always been a big fan of dwarves (well until GW went all daft  lol), is this stout chap an Oathmark plastic?

Thanks

Y’all are too kind. Almost everything is reaper except the two rangers in the group shot those are northstar. There is a LARGE amount of victrix on my desk currently. Here is another ranger. He is reaper with a northstar shield.

Good work on your figures! I like your vision for the project and the figures all fit quite well into the Middle Earth theme. I’ll be watching for updated.

How are you approaching figure decision here? Reaper has a huge catalog. Just scrolling through their offerings?

My flgs, Games Plus, carries the entire reaper range so I just usually go with the lads and we look for minis that are in chain or leather armor and general low fantasy feel to them. Trying to match minis to the monster section of the TOR rulebook or pc options.

This community has been so kind!

I found myself with an extra day off this week so I attempted to paint this big lot of lil men. I ended up finishing a vampire from reaper, a dwarf from North Star, and a werewolf from northstar. Though I didn’t finish any of them I made some good progress on my Fyrd of Bree. It’s a mix of victrix late Saxons, Vikings and archers. Plus made some progress on a characterful band of dwarves from reaper.
