Very cool, Perhaps the next "build something contest" should be themed around Kinder eggs?

YouŽre asking for a whole world of pain there. The plastic of those things is absolutely horrid to work with (unless they changed it), although IŽll admit instantly that those above are absolutely marvellous.

Yes, yes in deed they are.

No sir, you did not do that? I was just looking for a few of them not too long ago on here.  :-(

I think they may have changed the plastic but they also changed the design of the egg, it's now a single part egg:

That's because you'd always use your teeth to pop them open, (choking hazard in today's world vs. 70's calculated risk! :D).

Lovely models though, Rammstein totally unnecessary though! ;0

The new design is awful, and cropped up at the worst time ever. That time being after a certain someone had came upon my 50, or so, capsule-strong collection of the buggers and threw them out with the trash! Thanks for reminding me of that event. >:(

Consider me interested. What are these cheap knock-offs of which you speak?

So what are Kinder Eggs?  Do these have candy, a toy or pantyhose inside?   lol

Looking at the new ones at the bottom of the thread I see the modeling potential of these.  That's one of my favorite aspects of the hobby, taking household "trash" and turning it into something amazing.

these are chocalate eggs with this capsule inside, that contains a collectable toy
in germany you can buy the toys in cartloads on ebay

the capsule with the integrated lid are actually 4th generation

1st was smooth
2nd was with a protrusion on both ends like lego, which you could use to pop them together
3rd the protrusion became a bajonet lock, which was actually the most useful for building
4th I like most, cause it's useful to store little things

there are also some specials with an indented ring

I have a bagful of the old capsules, in case someone needs them
the plastic is really crap, so even more credits for the guys who used them to build this stuff

And here i think it is time for a certain "someone" to go trash diving till they find them.  :-)
