Another scenario taken from John Lambshead's excellent book, 'Sci-Fi Skirmish Scenarios'.
Page 50, Smash the Icon. I did tweak it a little.
For those without the book,
A group of foul heretics, ably played by Ian (Westbury) are attempting to perform
an un-holy rite at the long abandoned aforementioned temple.
The (True) Church's Hierarchy have sent three squads of 'Monks Militant' to stop this.
True believers were played by Bob (Flatpack), James (Vodkafan) & John (aka JC).
Drones had detected four clusters of life activity, three stationery & one moving.
One had to be the 'Gifted One' performing his rites. The rest merely acolyte distractions.
At the start Ian chose a suite. If & when the others took out a 'cell' they could call out
a suit. If they were correct then that was where the Gifted One was & he would be put
on the table with his Bodyguards.
If they were wrong, Ian would choose a suite from the remaining ones & the chase
would continue.
Each move Ian was to throw a D6. When the total exceeded 21 (or the Gifted One had
diced 10 times) the Foul Rites have been completed.
As the game was played under the excellent Galactic Heroes rules, some notes.
1) Monks Militant were Armoured (-1" off movement) & had Blaster Rifles, & rolled D10s
2) Acolytes had to stay at their starting sites, had Auto Pistols & rolled D8s
3) Bodyguards were Armoured & carried Galprien Force Lances (treated as Heavy Blasters)
but as they are powerful beings suffer no penalties on movement etc.
4) The Gifted One has no need of weapons, but was given two abilities.
Mesmerize (e.g. 'These are not the Droids you are looking for') and
God-Like ( i.e. much harder to kill).
