Wow, you’re a painting machine! I quite like the floppy hat look, eminently practical in sunny Greek weather for cavalry who have NO intention of getting up close with an enemy… shields are not really a thing for Greek cavalry of this time, another reason why they die very quickly if they are involved in hand to hand combat. They look great though so what the heck.

ETS (G),

A marvelous sight and feat. Being able to fight one polis against another is a dream I've had since High School (thanks to Bury and Thucydides) but I'm only working on my second Greek army currently. Needless to say, mine won't be near a 1000!

Inspirational stuff. Keep 'em comin'.

Splendid stuff! Though I have to ask how you’re finding the time to whip through them so fast, this seems nearly superhuman lol

Thanks Chaps - I should be honest and state that these figures were all painted up over the last 12 months. I have only just got round to basing them. I estimate that I paint around 100 figures a month. Each year I try to crank out another army/period. At the moment things are being somewhat curtailed by other bigger projects (namely refurbishing the new home).

If this is what curtailed looks like then I dread to see you at full throttle! And thanks for the explanation, though I’m still not sure I could paint over a thousand minis in a year lol
Best of luck with the refurbishment by the way ;)

Delighted to report that my Ancient Greek Army is NOW finished...hooray. Its taken time to get all the Hoplites based but the result was I think worth it. Just over 1300 figures....
