HUMBER AC PSC 20mm

[Adler]

This is the relatively new release from PSC, the Humber ac.
Annoyingly no headlights included, first couple have had a little fettling, headlights added grab handles replaced with wire etc
The third is basically OOB.
Decals from the excellent Dan Taylor set.
Two turret options included.
Goes togther well and lots of room to add lots of detail. Might benefit from new gun barrels. Easy to open the drivers visor as its well defined in the kit.
Painted with Humbrols, various scratch built  stowage and various bits taken from the Adler Bren carrier stowage set.

Gorgeous. I never know where to start with stowage, I mean, how do you know what goes where? Your weathering is absolutely perfect as well. I wish I could paint vehicles half this good.

'What goes where?'
You do see some daft looking stowage, sometimes. Thing to keep in mind is that the crew have a use for every bit of stuff festooned upon their chariot. I try to avoid dangling things down the outsides, or on the front plates. You don't want yer bedroll ripped off while crashing through walls and hedges. Vehicles are shot magnets, most of the stuff hitting the front, you'd wind up with a ventilated bedroll!
Easier still, skip all this cobblers and copy Adler, his model's aced it!

The British did have specific stowage plans, which, if you can find the appropriate one for the vehicle, provide a good starting point. I can't find one for the Humber online of course...

Stowage plans are the offical go to but off course reality differs a good deal. Crews picked up all sorts Ive seen a Sherman somewhere that had dining room chairs lashed to the back.
Best thing is to look at photos of the real thing, the Images at War series is a cheap go to ( Dave Lanchester often has them cheap at shows) another good source is to look up biuld logs ( Say' Tamiya Sherman biuld logs') for the vehicle your interested in and see what the 1/35 th scale modellers are doing. Obviously check carefully what they are basing their version on.
Worst thing with baggage is making it look as if its properly tied to the vehicle you can use the elasic thread sold for ships rigging to add ropes and be prepared to sand down.modify the 'base' of any baggage so it sits right.

You know, I was talking to my brother on the phone about this thread and he was telling me how in the Gulf, he just went to the R.E.M.E. workshop and asked them to weld on a bracket here, a basket there, depending on what kit he wanted to stow. I said I'd always assumed there was some sort of official plan you had to stick to or fitted bolts on the vehicles or something and he said no, if you're in charge of the squadron, you can have whatever you want, wherever you want, and the mechs will add/remove stuff there and then.

Firefly stowage looks amazing - must ask where you got your cauliflowers from, or are they scratch made ? Best looking 20mm veggies I have ever seen. Awesome work
