The Battle of Shahat
« on: December 16, 2023, 04:31:01 AM »
Well, Lee needs to win sometimes, and I didn't have the highest expectations of the ancient Libyan-Sea People alliance. Depressing when Goliath was killed on round one in single combat against the Pharoah (indignant letter from the Jews: That was my bird, you Goy gonoph!). Anyway, a few volleys, a chariot charge, and it was all over for my latest army.
Unshielded infantry don't do well against disciplined, bow-heavy opponents, whatever WRG claims.
Barbarian figures mainly Newline (actually, the Egyptians too), but I bought the army partly because it was a last chance for a good variety of Libyans before Magister Militum closed down, so quite a number of their figures as well.

The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

I'll try to take comfort in the thought.
