28mm imperial roman Equites legionis AD43
« on: December 24, 2023, 02:31:36 PM »
Hi All

I want to add a few Equites legionis figures to my V1111 legion AD43 in Britain. I have used Victrix figures so far abd want these Equites legionis mounted figures to look different to my Auxiliary Cavalry and do I was going to add cloaks to the figures, I was planning on using some Victrix Aux Cavalry bodies but can anyone suggest
1. What shields to use
2. Which helmets to use

Many thanks
Steve

Sorry I don't use Victrix as they are too large for my older 25-28mm figures.
To make the figures more "Roman" than the Auxuiliaries I used Praetorian Guard cavalry with cloaks and Attic Helmets and oval shields bearing the same symbols as the Legionaries from whom they were drawn.

The rest of the Legion is here http://www.morvalearth.co.uk/Romans%20and%20Celts/Romans_Celts_The_Legion.htm

Thanks
That's a great idea, I was thinking of using the Legionary heads rather than Cavalry heads. I like the idea with the shields

Use the Victrix Republican Roman cavalry in chainmail with auxiliary heads, cloaks if you like. The legionary heads are going to look a bit odd.
