28mm Elizabethan Woman in Men’s Clothes
« on: December 31, 2023, 11:09:51 PM »
I’ve been looking for 28mm a figure to represent a certain character; essentially a women in Elizabethan doublet, breeches and hose. Preferably wielding/wearing a sword, and wearing a short cape. Basically like the person in the attached illustration, just without the ruff around the neck.

That’s the only one I’ve found so far. I was kind of hoping for something a bit closer, if possible.

Ha, it’s funny you bring them up, cause I tried to use the second from the left as my first attempt ( I used green stuff to make the trunk hose). The result was… meh. I was kinda hoping there was a purpose built miniature out there. I’m not the best sculptor with green stuff.

Get a male miniature which is close as you can in outfit and slight in proportions and get a headswap from somewhere like Statuesque Miniatures or the like.

Other painters:  "Speaking of Elizabethan women in men's clothes in 28mm ..."

Me painting a 28mm figure:  "Is that facial hair?  I think that's facial hair?  I'll see if I can paint that the same color as ... oops, got some on the boots.  I should probably fix that."
Inara: It sounds like something this crew can handle. I can't guarantee they'll handle it particularly well, but...
Nandi: If they've got guns and brains at all...

Bad Squiddo has a Lucrezia Borgia figure that might come close to what you are looking for:

Just out of interest how big are the Foundry Elizabethan Sea Dogs range?
I am looking for some figures that fit in with the Redoubt Renaissance range.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :

figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

To me, they size well with The Assault Group, and both are a smidge bigger than Warlord's Pike and Shotte range.
Focused on 6mm pike and shot and 28mm Frostgrave
