Well the contest ends today and I am not quite done but for the most part it’s finished. I still wanted to add some lettering but time is up.
What I learned for the project.
When you enter a contest, enter at the start not at the end, one becomes very rushed when life happens at the same time.
Even though trash to treasure is a good idea, some things just don’t work the way you want them to.
You can measure twice and cut once (works most times) but when working with the thin plastic of the pretzel barrel you find out that once cut it does not hold its true shape. And things just don’t glue on very well.
Read labels and don’t shop when your mind is in a fog that way you do not buy enamel paint when you wanted acrylic. But even though I made that mistake so far I was able to paint the ship (not my best job)
Great ideas don’t always turn out great.
When something is very fragile you tend to drop it over and over.
Slicing open your finger because you are too stupid to listen to yourself when your mind says that’s not a smart way of using a Xacto knife.
All in all it was still a fun little project and I am 80% happy with it. Picture will be taken and put on the LAF web site late tonight. Hope you Quar nuts will approve.
Thanks
