Lava table/the broken stairs
« on: January 04, 2024, 01:21:14 PM »
Hello...

Once again spurred on by Mr Joseph A. McCullough, I've been playing with insulation foam again.

Still finding tiny bits of the stuff at irregular locations through out my home.

Anyway, I had the stupid idea of combining the Lava table from the Star Grave scenario, with the 'Broken Stairs' scenario from Rangers of Shadow Deep.

I'm not too sure about the results, it's serviceable but there were compromises to be made that are both detrimental aesthetically and in terms of functionality.

Whatever, the big bonus to it being so modular is for storage, but I guess it also offers more possible layouts.

What do you think?

That looks brilliant!! I would never have thought of getting a lava mat and then dropping painting insulation foam on it. A truly great idea that I will have to borrow. Thanks for sharing.

I like that a lot! And if you swap out the lava mat for water, you have scenery for a wave washed cliff. Use a grassland mat, and you have a dramatic mountain pass…

Very effective and a worthwhile compromise to make it work between the two.  Your stone surfaces are spot on.
