DBA 3.0 bases
« on: January 09, 2024, 10:14:07 AM »
Hi All! I recently found my OG Corvus Belli Imperial Romans and Britons in 15mm and want to get them set up for DBA 3.0. However... I'm not sure where I can get bases and which are the correct sizes. I have the book, but I may be missing something. I'm based in The Netherlands, can anyone recommend a good source for bases and game aides?

Thank you very much in advance!

You can just cut the bases from thick card. 15mm figures use a 40mm base width and varying depths as detailed in the rules.

In the UK at least, there are loads of eBay sellers who do laser-cut MDF bases in all the standard wargames sizes. I'd imagine there must be some on the continent too. Magister Militum still does (last time I checked) black plastic bases in those sizes too.

As Steve says, 40mm is the frontage for 15mm. Infantry have recommended depths of 15-20 mm (4bd, spear and pike), 20mm (3bd, warband, etc.) and 30mm (horde); cavalry have 30mm depth. But the depths can be adjusted to suit the figures, so there's no harm in having 4bd elements with 20mm depth or hordes and cavalry on 40mm squares. All the depths are on page 7 (under "smaller figure scale").

Depending on the thickness you want on the bases there are 2 sellers in Spain.
Bandua and Atlantica juegos.

Not sure  Rui but I don't think Spain owns The Netherlands any more..... lol
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Another potential, if you'd like steel bases, Campaign Miniatures from Barcelona.

Thanks all! I found plastic bases from Magister. Apparently they are going out of business so if you want plastic, they were the only source I found.

My first base, almost done!
