That is one of the best ships I have seen for 28mm miniatures... strong work Sir! :-*

How did you achieve the water effects?  I would love to hear about how you did the photography for these models!

The "water"is simply a clear blue plastic shower curtain put on top of my van´s roof (thus no horizon due to the camera´s low angle). The cam is a simple 7.1 megapixel with macro function for miniature photography. I usually take the models out into the open, because daylight works best, I think.

Absolutely brilliant piece!
I started to work on this kit sold by Trumpeter 2 years ago. I did a waterline model, but lost patience and was distracted by new minis (Wargods of Aegyptus actually ;) ).
However after seeing this I might have to rethink my "painting  schedule".......

Thanks for the motivation, cheers Thomas
These days it's Wargods and Warhammer Armies Project I am working on !

Thank you Thomas.Mine is a waterline model too. The upper part has a bottom with two holes and the lower part has to pins that fit in there. Thus I can put her on display while not in use for gaming. I tried to hide the waterline cut with algae:

BTW: I originate from Oberursel (read you´re Hessian too!): "Gude!"

That's a very good idea and she works very well as both a gaming and display piece  :-*

Beautiful work, love the pictures and the ship is stunning   :D was going to ask about the minis too as i'm putting together a band of lady-pirates, picked up the black scorpian range as they are lovely models, now to get 'em painted up and buckling some swash :P

Add Reaper's Rozmina - half orc Pirate to your merry band. She actually doesn't look orcish , makes a ripper Pirate crewperson. ;D
Cheers,
