Praetorian guards III century ?
« on: January 15, 2024, 11:18:59 AM »
Hello guys,
I am looking for suitable figures for late praetorian guardsmen, I know the nice A&A sculpts, but I would like a later type, with the Nierderbieber Helmet,  3rd Century AD.  Like the ones in these pictures.
Do you know of any miniatures in metal, resin or stl like these ?

or these

Thanks!

Cheers

Plastics but the Victrix Late Roman's are close:

Footsore has some which are close in metal, though like the victrix plastics, most are in mail, not scale.

Not finding any with the helmet you are looking for.

Wargames Atlantic's Late Roman Legionaries come with Niederbieber helmets. You could combine those with the Victrix armored late Romans above.

As an alternative, Wargames Atlantic (eventually) plans on releasing late Roman legionaries with scale armor if you don't want to buy two sets. However, I have no idea when thats coming out.

Thanks for your answers! I thought about waiting until Wargames Atlantic release legionaries in Lorica Squamata, but who knows when they release the kit!  the other option was beheading my precious A&A legionaries in scale armour with 4th c. helmets and glue the plastic Nierderbieber on them...

Cheers
