Looking for 10/6mm Dark age Church
« on: 22 January 2024, 10:35:51 AM »
I'm out of ideas so thought I'd ask the collective

Looking for a Dark age church like this to fit my Arthurian skirmish gaming

I've tried Leven, Baggage train, Total Battle miniatures etc without luck

Anyone else have any other ideas?
On the lookout for 10mm Magister Militum Fantasy figures, halflings and woodelves in particular

Have you considered scratch building?
I, & no doubt others, would take on the commission if you didn't feel up to it.

It did cross my mind, as did taking a current DA building and adding to it .

Battlescale produce some Dark Age buildings in both 6 and 10mm but sadly not a church.

I sometimes make wall texture like that by coating the surface with epoxy, then adding fenugreek seeds. It seems weevils don't fancy them, so you just need to undercoat them well before painting. Responds well to drybrushing.

The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Looks great, might be able to use that idea on this piece, then it just needs a thatched roof

Is this one suitable? You could greenstuff some thatch onto the roof to make it more Dark ages

That one is in their Big Battalion range however, so if you plan on using it for your skirmish games it may have too much of a shrunken footprint?

The Irregular Miniatures website is probably worth a check, as they have all manner or weird and wonderful stuff - if you can find it :-[

I had a good look around but they tend to do a building or two that I want in a set rather than on their own
