I speak almost zero French, but even with my bad French, I know an odd car when I see it.  I kind of want one, now.

Honestly, what must it have been like to drive one of those things?

Here's an Aliexpress link to that oddball VIINITE taxi:

It looks great, maybe I should get one

10 wheels, 2 X V8 engines.  No doubt that was to accomodate the size of the Michelin Man. I'm vaguely surprised they didn't put it into production and aim for the US market. lol

Apparently it still exists in a museum at the Michelin Museum.

My thought exactly. I have ogled that Citroën tire testbed for use as terrain in my UFO project, but never got to buying one. The bagagère version is much more suitable  for retro-futuristic traffic on English country roads though. I might get that one after all :)

And the experimental Russian taxi fits right in too.

I bet these were quite expensive...

No I got them at very reasonable to cheap prices , just lucky as two were under a Tenner including postage.

Nice :)

I've checked them out on Ebay and elsewhere, and they are indeed very affordable for 1/43 vehicles. That doesn't make me want them any less now... ;)

Parking at the local Tesco express would be fun too.

Couple of Maximum Security Vehicles: Captain Scarlet.

Both are Dinky and I’ve repainted them after stripping them apart etc  .

One is painted in the colour as seen in the TV series. The other in white- as Dinky produced the model.

I’m going to weather them both up a bit.

Yes mate , I like to get as much mileage out of terrain I build .

UFO was set in 1980 so that’s easy enough ….  Captain Scarlet  might be a little trickier?? 🤔

Oh no, that's even easier. The 2060s will look remarkably like the late 1960s apparently. With the addition of the occasional odd looking satellite tower thingy here and there.  Bizarrely, Sylvia and Gerry Anderson's vision seems to have been drawn from the unpublished Tory Manifesto 'Keep Britain looking like Birmingham circa 1968' a political project of remarkable endurance. ;)

The key to it is the slavish application of the old Peco 'chocolate box' type railway back scenes that appear in every long shot or close up of someone driving.

On a more serious note the addition of some buildings and bits and bobs from the Brutal Cities range to your existing layout would probably do the trick.

🤣🤣🤣🤣👍

Thanks for the advice which I will act upon🫡

I did say to my mate the other day that the futuristic look of Capt. S is a bit limited and they used 1950 / 60s  American  cars ….  on the plus side they are easy to obtain.

Off to look up Brutal Cities now!
