10mm Seven Years War
« on: February 13, 2024, 07:00:44 AM »
Just some more minis that are joining my Seven Years War collection.

These units have the sabot bases from Warebases, these enable easier movement on the table and I can identify the individual regiments.

The infantry are in battalions and the cavalry are one base per squadron.

The French army follows the OOB for Minden and the Russians the OOB for Zorndorf.

Beautiful work! The sabot bases seem very practical and look good. I use something similar for my 10mm Seven Years War forces.

They look excellent! Keep them coming!

10mm SYW - best of the best!

Hi Frostie,

lovely troops they are, Pendraken obviously, enviable. But they won´t stand a chance against OG "Grand Scale" armies mate, they have the dense ranks strip-advantage!  ;) I am a big fan of 10mm as well - one of the more underestimated scales in the hobby I guess. Congratulations to your immaculate armies and good luck in upcoming battles!

Cheers

Great stuff.  What rules do you use?  We use to play Age of Reason back in the day but I was wondering what the cool kids use now.

May I ask where you sourced your figures from, please?

I have a 10mm collection of SYW figures I bought painted and have added a bit to it through Old Glory 25s 10 mm range.  A bit smaller than what I bought painted so I made bases a tad bit thicker.  I have an order inbound from Irregular that might be a close match - or so I hope.  Just in case I ever want to add to the collection.  Don't need more, have plenty for Prussians and Austrians.  Would only add to include other countries troops.  I am pretty certain the bought painted are not Pendraken.

I will be using Black Powder 2 with some 7YW period adaptations I found on the interweb.

All mine are Pendraken, I only buy from them.

I use Pendraken for everything else, but not the standard bearers in the musketeers - there I prefer Irregular Miniatures, since they come with bare poles, and I can wrap a printed flag around the staff.

That is an issue but I ask Leon to provide standard bearers with bare poles, which he does.

The latest regiment painted is a combined grenadier unit for the Reichesarmee.
