Cornish Rebels 1497
« on: March 07, 2024, 07:40:56 PM »
Some Cornish Rebels simply converted from the recent steel fist miniatures German peasants war range.

Stuart, thanks for posting this. I've just Googled "Cornish Rebellion 1497" and it was a most interesting read. Quite a major uprising and the fact that the rebels managed to get all the way to London is quite an impressive feat. The reign of Henry VII post Bosworth deserves more coverage. He's rather overshadowed by the Wars of the Roses and his larger-than-life son!

You’re welcome, they rise again in 1497 after Blackheath in support of Perkin Warbeck, besiege Exeter and moving on to Taunton. They get quashed but do eventually get their demands met.

Yes Henry VII has quite a time of it, active both at home and on the continent. The career of one of his key military men  Edward Poynings is a good reflection of how busy Henry was  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Poynings

Stuart, thanks.  I have some Wars of the Roses troops and you may have given me an excuse to buy some of the beautiful Steel Fist figures without having to start a whole new project based on the German Peasants War.

Tried commenting on the blog but couldn't manage somehow.

Anyway are guild and town flags another possibility? Although neither of those may be keen to have them displayed in rebellion?

Either way your figures and banners look great!

Thanks Emir, they are indeed but I couldn’t find any that were contemporary to the period.

Amazing work! These look fantastic!

I was thinking of using the Steel Fist range for some of my Warbeck supporters, so this is definitely an inspiration!
