The Bronze Age ones are lovely and fit all my needs, but even with reduced import costs through Fenris they are pricey! Twice the cost of the Lucid Eye ones...

Oooo this is a hard choice!  :'(

I am certainly going to buy the Fenris/Bronze  Age ones to mix in with my Bad Squiddo Amazons. I feel they are just what I need to help pull them together and make the whole look a bit more Greek.
That's my plan anyway.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Seconded  :-*

I have asked Brother Vinni if they will do armoured versions but the answer was no. Would have thought they would sell well.

The Lucid Eye Amazons are very nice but obviously styled as the Trojan War rather than the classical era. Depends what you are after I suppose.

Well, I've gone and stuck an order in for the Bronze Age ones, I decided that the classical look would be better since I'll be using the Hasslefree 40mm Artemis as the goddess they serve.

Thanks again for all your comments and recommendations chaps, I can always rely on you to help me spend money! lol

Eureka Minis has a few Amazons.

The Hoplites and pike women are actually really nice. I have several.

The naked peltasts and the like aren't as good. Certainly worth a look at the website.

They also have lovely Skythian horse women archers, clothed in traditional garb. Worth a look too.

I believe Amazons were a real warrior type, the archaeological evidence is there - horse archers and Adrian Goldsworthy writes of the Illyrians having women warriors too. Good fun for wargaming :-)

They are oop by now but these ladies by Wargames Factory do pop up on ebay every now and then.

You get a bunch of sprues with a lot of different weapons, even some claws  lol and two types of body.

If you want to know the number of sprues for something just let me know and I'll check.

I just bought those Wargames Factory Amazons last week from ebay while I am waiting for the Bronze Age ones to arrive from Fenris Games.
The plastics arrived today. Haven't put any together yet. However I was very pleased with all the extra heads which are very nice.

I really like the old Grenadier amazons.
The hoplites have chainmail coats though, I'm not sure if that's too modern (4th/5th cent. BC?) but they wear carthaginian/thracian helmets.

These are nice. Comprehensive range available with spears, swords and bows and mounted options as well.

They have been mentioned further back in the thread. I do like those. May invest in them at some point...
