Hello, Gentlemen,

I need your help.

I‘m searching for a miniature line which has models depicting civilians and city militia for a small German town in the year 1540.

The miniatures will be used for a holiday project with a group of kids in the StadtMuseum of Einbeck and afterwards maybe be part of an exhibition. The plan ist to do build a small board and play around a big fire which nearly destroyed the town, which was possibly be caused by agents in the pay of a nearby noble, because the city was one of the earlier ones declaring for Luther.

Here you can find more information https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadtbrand_von_Einbeck#:~:text=Der%20Stadtbrand%20von%20Einbeck%20war,sie%20nicht%20aus%20Stein%20war.

I would really appreciate your help.

A few suggestions, although large ranges of "civilians" are pretty much non-existent. Steel Fist Miniature produces figures for the German Peasants War ( mostly armed), as do Artizan Designs. Eureka Miniatures produce some Italian Renaissance figures, some of which might pass for your period. The Assault Group (TAG) have a pack of "Tudor Women" in their Tudor range. TAG also produce a Maximilian Habsburg range. This doesn't include civilians but may have some figures you can use for militia.

Thanks for reminding me about these . I think they are another range that Warlord hoovered up from someone else.  I'm almost tempted myself.

Didn't Lead Adventure have a range which contained civilians? Some of them were fantasy figures, but some looked more historical. They were, however, quite expensive. Last time I looked they were very hard to source here in the UK but there was a stockist in Germany.

I guess there may be quite a few fantasy ranges with a late Medieval/Renaissance theme. GW's Mordheim range may have some suitable figures.

Thanks again, I own the Lead Adventure range and many old Mordheim miniatures. The problem is to get them reliable and reasonably priced, because I will order them for the museum, to be freshly painted etc.

I sympathise. i decided that I liked the look of some Lead Adventure civilians but I really struggled to find anyone in the UK selling them. The non-UK sellers were just too expensive. I ended up giving up with them. Because I collect figures for a rather later period, and I have access for someone who can convert figures for me, I bought some Ratnik eighteenth century civilians, but they are much too late for what you want.

Ones I would look at are Midlam miniatures : www.midlamminiatures.co.uk some of their townsfolk and children might work.
Also Athena Miniatures https://www.athenaminiatures.co.uk/ they have some great characterful figures and a really useful campfollowers and resting Landsknechts.

The French company Fenryll have a lot of civilians - somne of which may be useful.  Note they are a large 28mm size and are in resin - cast, not 3d printed.

Funny you should mention Einbeck. I'm collecting terrain and figures to fight the semi-fictional battle of the Einbeck bowl, in particular the village of Lüthorst a few miles to the north-east of Einbeck as part of Exercise Lionheart, a big NATO exercise in 1984.

Have a look at the Eureka Portuguese and Conquistador ranges there might be some useful stuff there. Another option would e to look at Border Reiver ranges.

There are a number of late 16thC civilians in this one.
