28mm Da Vinci Flyer

(1/2) > >>

GARS1900:
I’m putting together a Renaissance Army, with da Vinci war machines as part of the theme. I know Da Vinci’s tank can be found in 28mm, and Hinchliffe makes the rotating 33 barreled organ guns. However, I’ve yet to see an example of Da Vinci’s glider in 28mm, save for some old Warhammer models I’m sure are horribly expensive. Does any one make a 28mm model of this  glider, preferably with a crew member?

carlos marighela:
No idea what scale it is but Academy make/made a plastic model of the glider along with a host of other Da Vinci inventions.

Revell also made a model of the aerial screw/ helicopter thingy in 1/48. It's a wooden kit but looks pretty simple from the instructions.

Judging by an 'unboxing' type video review it looks like the Flying machine is somewhere between 1/60  and 1/48 scale on the basis of the bloke's hands in the video.

Plastic, snap-together kit, no glue required.

Amazon or Etsy for a bit under $30 AUD.

Or you could scratch-build one yourself like I did ages ago for one of the "Build Something" contests...  lol

Back in 2021 Bogdanwaz started a marvellous thread here on the siege of an Italian Renaissance city, defended by da Vinci machines. The machines were build from kits by Academy and Elenco.
