Make Mine Marvel (Crisis Protocol)
« on: April 15, 2024, 06:58:33 PM »
While a longstanding fan of "The Big 2" I always found myself gravitating more towards Marvel. Sure, BTAS was awesome, but growing up it was outnumbered by Spider-Man (cue electric guitar intro), Hulk (cue oppressive drums) and X-Men (you *know* that theme, I dont need to describe it) and even long after better content came out I was a Marvel fan first. As I've matured I've grown to appreciate DC significantly more (Superman is a fascinating character and significantly more interesting then Batman to me) but I'm still a Marvel guy.

As such I happily bought into Knights Marvel game, then became dissapointed before trying again hesitantly with AMG. It was a good decision looking back, because Marvel Crisis Protocol is superb!

Captain America

The first super-soldier, beacon of liberty and all around decent guy. Likes punching authoritarians, slinging his shield, and hotdogs. Also a talented artist.

The Incredible Hulk

An incredible 3d print, he's a big lad and took a lotta' time to paint. I feel it came out well though.

Couple of classic characters there. I like the silver age Captain America figure, not seen that sculpt before.

Quicksilver!

I think I did a poor job on painting him, tbh.

Storm!

I'm very particular about the costumes on my characters, and while Storm has a large repitore, they don't really click with me. Her Punk-Leather-Mohawk phase though? Pretty iconic and low key. Much like the above, I'm not too happy on the paintjob, but it works.

The Hulk and Ultron are great.

like you say, Quicksilver and Storm could prob. do with a bit of a make-over but would look fine on the table-top I'm sure.
this 'looking at miniatures at excessive size on a monitor' isn't kind to paint-work all too often, out of context.

Excelsior!

those motion lines are going to be very hard to do right anyway I think... but yeah, Storm needs defoliating scrub or something

Zola!

He's an absolute, bloody, nightmare. This was *clearly* an experiment worthy of 'the good doctor' because AMG have yet to bugger around with clear plastic again, but having a good third of the model in it is NOT a good idea.

Behold...MODOK!

A wonderful miniature to paint, he has a far more cartoony vibe compared to the MUCH earlier released Kirby-Accurate MODOK.
