Thanks for the positive feedback  - I'll update as the army progresses, even if it's just a way to prove to myself that I'm making some progress!!  ;)

Great shields! Total respect if you are going to paint all of your army with these shields.
Got to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight.

My intention is to paint each unit with consistent colours and shield designs, but still put variation within each unit.

I know that that might make some players cringe due to 'historical accuracy', but I think it will look cool, and sits well with me, plus I can always mix and match units to give variety if I fancy it.

I'll be starting on my first unit next week and will show progress as it happens!

Thanks everyone!

The Shields have a cast on design, so they're really pretty straightforward to paint.

I'm not really a lover of painting miniatures. More of a Wargamer who likes to have painted toys on the table!

Off to a great start - love the choice of colours.

Also worthy of a mention is the quality of your basing...the different grades of cover really add to the effect

Look forward to seeing more!

I just bought some of the WIP Spartans. Your painting really makes them come alive I can't wait to paint mine now!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt
