It wasn't until relatively "late" where Hoplites started to have any "uniform" appearance, but who cares!  These look good.

Couldn't agree more! I knew when I decided that I was going to paint them in a uniform way, with a limited palette that it was very likely not 'correct', but I suppose watching all those old epic movies as a kid has had a lasting effect on me, and I just had to do it!!

I do have a fall back option though, that once I have the army painted, I could mix and match the miniatures from various units to give the likely more correct over all look to the army. Thinking about it at the moment, does make me sweat a bit though!!
