Tsar's second steamtank
« on: November 24, 2009, 11:01:52 PM »
I'm very very late to declare my participation to the contest, but actually I have absolutly no time to spent time on the forum, because job and little baby.
Nevertheless, as I received de contest by mail, I began to bulit my second steam tank.

Here's my progression, I begin painting tomorrow.

Now, I'll have a look to the other entries.  :)

Very nice, but I am not sure which way it is supposed to be headed.  ;)    Can't wait until you post the photo of it painted. ;D

Again sorry for the late reply, time for nothing ...  :(
Thanks for the comments :)

Juste a few hours before the deadline, Here some photos of the WIP painting:

I have to put the smoke and the insigna of the army.

@Bezzo: you right, perhaps the gun is too big ... the ammo trailer is a very good idea, but now there's no "loading door" on the tank ...
As for my first tank, there's a problem of realism, I'll try to do better for the next.  :)

Looks great, very VSF. I think if you said the cannon was steam fired, then all you would have to have is storage for the cannonballs. Also the inside diameter of the cannon barrel is slightly smaller than the external, for safety I'm sure. ;)

That is some ****** awesome gun!

Will there be an ammo trailer? Can't imagine there will be many shells carried aboard.

Maybe that was the fatal* flaw that stopped the Tsar from ordering more than just the prototype ?

Yes steam cannon, I was thinking it'll be the solution

Love the paint job.

On the subject of ammo storage - I would not think any opponent is going to hang around for a second shot. The first is likely to render any enemy into its component molecules.

Or that'll be antoher  :)

I'll have to make a decision soon, because I'd like to write some rules for my steamtanks.

excellant !!  lol
