Thanks for your kind words. From someone who has amazing figures and terrain, that is high praise!  :-*

The zombie stuff is relatively recent. However, I began my post-apocalyptic project ,in general, in 2021. There was about a year and a half of painting up half a dozen plus survivor gangs and terrain before I finally ran the first game in July of 2022. Unfortunately, I averaged running only about three games a year for the Sunday evening gaming gang.

The zombie stuff began back in spring of this year. I was intrigued by the pre-release of County Road Z and ordered the book, reading through the PDF. However, the long wait for the official release and final version of the rules gave me a chance to become interested in Zombie RV. It seems a bit simpler and easier to run for both conventions and the weekly wargaming group. After this weekend's games at the convention, I will try out a larger board and six player or so game with my friends. I'd love for it to be a campaign with their characters getting new skills, dying along the way, etc.

We'll see how it goes, though...  ;)

Looks like a great table layout for your games. I definitely need more vehicles and terrain.
Painted:  2024: 236; 2023: 37; 2022: 56

Great report and images, I'm tempted by Zombie RV now.

I'd say do it. They're a $1. Bargain for a fun game.

I ran Zombie RV at this past weekend's Hold the Line convention in Port Clinton, OH. I had three 2'x2' boards set up, and my players had a lot of fun trying to scavenge supplies and get off the table alive. One board was a trailer park with my fortified trailers, burnt out vehicles, and other miscellaneous scatter. Another was an industrial zone with factories, water tower, oil storage, and more. The third was a Shell station overrun with zombies and burnt out vehicles.

All of the players had a great time, they said. A number of them also said they were going to pick up the rules. As I hoped, they worked out very well for a convention game. Everyone picked up the mechanics quickly and were soon running their own game. That left me to enjoy the action, pass out zombies when they rolled at spawn points, and adjudicate questions.

Read the whole report and see LOTS more pictures on my Lead Legionaries blog: https://leadlegionaries.blogspot.com/2024/09/zombie-rv-at-hold-line-2024.html

Thanks in advance for any comments...!

Games look great!

The Eastmoor Kings should pile into a pickup truck and see if they can make it to safety out of town.

Thanks! I always appreciate when folks let me know they read my blog entries.  :-*

Cat - I think the gangs would do pretty good at first against the zombies, but eventually get swamped. The spawn is 3+ per turn. That's half a gang... lol

Clearly, they need an alliance.

Of course, you don't need to be faster than the zombies, just faster than the other gangs...
