Late Companions
« on: August 01, 2024, 01:47:36 PM »
The title refers to the fact that these have been sat waiting to be finished pretty much since Victrix released them! I think I fell out with them because they’re somewhat on the large side. I’ve now painted up a pretty large infantry force and really need some cavalry, so needed to get my finger out. This is a bit of a test base to see what worked colour wise and I’m reasonably happy with the outcome

Wow I would be happy with those as well!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

I can’t comment on the figure size compared to other manufacturers (don’t own any of the Victrix cavalry yet), but the paint job certainly works!

Nicely done, especially the skin tone.

I like that kit, thinking of getting one to do successor cavalry but I would give the sandalled body boots from the light cavalry kit - for some reason I prefer boots than sandals for cavalry.

Those look great!

Corso, boots are more obligate for cavalry when they have stirrups.  Without stirrups, sandals are fine for riding.

Oh, and they're all dead now for sure, so definitely late Companions.

I agree 100% with you - my point was for aesthetics only. Victrix kits are very historically accurate.

For some reason my tired brain added "night" in middle of thread's title and I was a little worried of what I might find here. lol
Luckily it was just nicely painted minis and not some spam spewed out by a bot. You did a good job on them.
