Thanks everyone for your comments. Perhaps it’s going to be Victrix Macedonian, with a 1st Corp large and impressive elephant, with the new Victrix Greeks painted up as Magna Greacia.

Maaaaany years ago I used the multipart figures that were then manufactured by QT Miniatures to create Italiote hoplites for my Phyrric army, with a mixture of Samnite, Roman and Greek components. You could easily do a similar thing using a mixture of hoplites and Roman Allies from Victrix.

And finally Crusader Miniatures do some rather nice sculpts and are price reasonably.

By the way an oft overlooked range of figures is A &A Miniatures.  Now quite old but at the "low cost" end of the market, these figures have a charm and some unique ranges .They produce an Alexandrian range which might be fine for Magna Graecia and Pyrrhus. Currently offering a "buy 5 get one free" deal which makes his infantry just over £1 per figure.
