Well, it looks like I'm on fire

Another week passed, and I did manage to get some stuff done.

15mm Paras

Those are coming out nicely. At first, I was a bit reluctant, as I was concerned about the details, but after priming them mat black, all the details popped up nicely, so I'm looking forward to finishing those lads. 



20mm AFV
On the armoured front, I'm on top of the stuff. Just fur models left to finish.

They were a bit tricky to photograph, so I will need to find a better way to do so.

For some strange reason, I did not get the notification.

Anyway, here is another update.

This time 1/72(20mm). The Stug IV and Half-track are now finished. Sadly, when I was applying mat varnish, I got a bit of frosting on them. I'm still working on removing it, as it is a slow process. But I think I now know what is causing it (aside from me being a bit heavy-handed with the spray can )



I'm currently painting some 28mm, but I plan to get back to 15mm and 20mm realm soon.

Very nice.
Warming up cans in hot water helps a lot, just pop em in a bowl of hot water ( from the tap) for 10 mins before spraying, dry carefully. Makes a big difference to the atomisation.
I suppose I have to put the 'dont micro wave your poodle clause' in, DO NOT heat in a saucepan or the like, just dunked in hot water from the tap/off boil kettle water.

Yeah, I will need to try that. It's odd that I have this problem only with Vallejo Matt Varnish; the usual cheap varnish I use is always okay.

Time for a small update.

There has not been a lot of progress in the realms of WW2 recently.

I got some old ESCI/Italeri Panzer IV and Sherman, but I plan to use them to test some painting techniques. They are somewhat dated models. 

In the meantime, I got some test models of 20mm baddies (PSC/Adler) on which I'm trying to remind myself how I have painted the oak leaf pattern camo... because I did not take notes



It is not the best picture, but I will try to take better shots later this week when I do more painting.

It's time for another update. It took me some time to take photos of the latest achievements, which have been sitting on my desk for about two or three weeks now.

So here we go. 

1/72 Sherman

This one is from Heller. It was a nice model to build, and the rubber tracks, which can be painful in the back, were very easy to glue together.





I have another Sherman on my workbench, but it is the old ESCI/Italeri one. Looks like I'm getting into some Sherman rabbit hole

PSC/Adler 20mm baddies

Those were nice to paint. I will definitely try to get more, especially the 8th Army and DAK

It was a crazy summer, and I did not have enough time to do any more work on WW2 stuff.

15mm Paras

I started working on another section of Paras. I also got a set of 15mm PSC paras, so it looks like I will have way more than I need for a single platoon .



20mm front

I spent some time away visiting family in Poland, so I was limited in what I could take with me and paint. But I got another of the Adler 20mm baddies painted. I now must say I'm getting confident that I can paint some German camo to a decent level





I'm thinking about crafting some 15mm terrain, maybe a building or two to start with. We will see.
