Don's Vertical Vampire Tower
« on: August 12, 2024, 12:26:28 PM »
I wanted to do a vertical Gamingboard for ages, but never had the right idea how to do it.

The a few nights ago, I had the mad idea to slice a tower open and create a unique gothic horror playing field.
I wanted to do it transportable and be able to send it by mail.
So i wasnt to make it too big.

The first step was to bild a raw structure wich fitted in the supposed transport box.

Staircases would be to big, so I opted for ladders...

After 2 days of building the main structure a splashed a little paint on it ...

View from the other side.

To fill the empty walls I printed out a few paintings.... ;)

And a added a few others things.
Luckily I had lots of dungeon furniture from other projects.

And so looks the Tower after 7 Days of work. I could add more and more stuff, but I had to stop, because other things need some attention... :)

The owner of the Tower had the habbit of impaling people, so I added a few stakes at the roof. Just to remind the players... ;)

And the whole thing in the designated transport-box.

Looking forward playing in the tower... could be a little fiddly.. :-)

Cheers,
Don

Cool!  Consider this project a challenge to take up and I will try (with great difficulty I am sure) to equal it.

That's magnifiscent :-*

Anyone playing on that is very lucky indeed!

I remember the very first time I DM'd a campaign for my very first RPG group, way back in highschool. I designed (on paper) a huge tower, which the players had to ascend, floor by floor, to fight the bad wizard at the top. It was a great game, but it would have been an epic experience, if we would have had something akin to your tower there... :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

That's a wonderful idea and build, especially for anyone who doesn't have much table top space.

I wonder if a small diameter circular tower to contain the steps might have worked, although the ladders look really cool.

Vampires don’t need ladders or steps in bat form!

What a cool idea!

What have you used to give structural strength to the tower?

That looks great, I've always like the look of vertical scenery.

Also glad to see you're a properly supervised gamer in that last photo there!
