1/56 scale tyres?
« on: August 05, 2024, 06:40:22 PM »
Can anyone recommend a source for resin vehicle tyres (mixed types ok) suitable for adorning 28mm scale boats (as fenders) or used as general detritus on scenery please?   I don’t have any scale toys to rob! 😩

Putting "toy tyres" into Amazon turns up far more than I had expected. It looks like you can buy them separately from the cars, and in bulk, eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/XIDIT-Accessories-Classic-Children-Plastic/dp/B0BZC5J2LX/ref=sr_1_57

The ministry ones look great but are cast pieces in piles rather than individual tyres - a shame because they would look fine otherwise.

The Lego ones don’t really look vet realistic unfortunately…..thanks though.

Pete…..I tapped James up once before for tires….id feel cheeky! 😉

I know you asked for resin tyres, but you can buy spare "Dinky tyres" on Ebay etc.

I used a mix of sizes and other toy tyres for my Mad Max gateway:

2024 Lead Tally: Acq: 033 Ptd: 091  Total: +058
2023 Lead Tally: Acq: 560 Ptd: 056  Total: -504
2009-22 Tally:  Acq: 3293 Ptd: 905  Total: -2388

They look excellent - I may have to pinch this idea. I also need some new tyres for a Dinky fire engine.

Ask if he is interested in swaps.  :)

As to the Lego ones, some stores (Wilco was one) will sell a cup of lego bits. Cram it full of wheels & tyres.

Thanks bought some from eBay (at great cost mind! 😕) - just enough anyway for my current project.

Great looking gate there!
