(KS) Ape World 28mm Intelligent Apes
« on: September 03, 2024, 07:22:06 PM »
I have just launched a Kickstarter for some 28mm metal miniatures for gaming in a world dominated by intelligent apes.

You can take a look at Ape World Kickstarter here : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackstone/ape-world

Good idea, I'm a big fan of the Planet of Apes (the book as well as the serie).  :)

Glad you like it.

I like the book and the movies, but I think the story in the book is far better than the Hollywood version.

What ever story you want to game, I think there are lots of options for RPG & Skirmish style gaming.

I am a huge Planet of the Apes fan, too. I don't do kickstarters, though. So, I may look them up when they're released to the general public.  :)

I agree with you: the book is far better. But for gaming, the old serie (1974) is quite inspiring!  :)

There are so many gaming options based on either the book, the films or the TV series.

In the Ape Word Kickstarter, I have suggested an alternative storyline where the humans on the planet at the far side of the galaxy have weakened there population by decades of conflict prior to taking the decision to enhance apes with drugs and genetic manipulation in order to use the as combat soldiers (Enhanced Simian Platforms). Eventually this all goes wrong as the Apes develop communications and self awareness. When they protest and demand votes & rights, they are brutally suppressed by the humans, provoking an uprising that sees the apes prevailing against a human population already ravaged by decades of conflict. Hundreds of years latter, after the remaining humans have regressed into a primitive culture the planet is visited by a team of French cosmonauts....

In the Kickstarter we have a wide range of different figure types available, plus ape heads for conversions.
