The first of my Red Copper Miniatures Hittites have started to roll off the production line. Lovely sculpts...

Lovely work! I like the rough edge of the bases too.

Thanks.

The bases are standard 15cm bases for To The Strongest available from the BigRedBat shop. Simon does a whole selection, including some that are made so the edges slot together. Recommended.

Lovely. I'm too invested in 28mm but plan a Red Copper "Classical Indian" army. Just need to finish off a few small painting projects and create some room on the painting table. Elephants and heavy chariots take up a fair amount of space!

Here's the next couple of units: line Hittite infantry (looking very colourful) and a chariot base with a general.

Gorgeous! love the bright colours, and the cowhide shields look superb.

Here is the other unit of Spearmen I need, and a couple more bases of chariots. I'm still loving painting these chaps: very nice figures with plenty of character.

They look brilliant!

I have the 15mm Sea Peoples from that range and while the detail is fantastic and the poses cool, they are a bit flimsy. Nevertheless it’s one of the best Bronze Age ranges ever.

Agreed about the detail and the poses, but the ones Baueda print for me aren't what I would call flimsy. I've not broken anything so far (spears, yokes etc). Where did yours come from, because one of the reasons I use Baueda is because I'm very happy with the robustness of the models?

More Hittites rolling off the production line.

First up are another two heavy three-man chariots. It looks like the chariot on the left is only manned by two crew, but that’s because there’s a chap taking a breather sitting on the back of the chariot, presumably regularly asking “are we there yet?” to his two comrades!

I can’t emphasise how nice these models look in real life. They’re a pleasure to paint too, with the relief so clear that getting the ‘plank’ effect on the chariot bodies is easy (you just have to stay within the lines!) and the horse-armour just about paints itself (dry-brushed bronze over a Snakebite Leather base if you’re interested).

Then I’ve finished a couple of bases of light infantry chariot runners. In To The Strongest, these are light infantry with javelins, but I quite like the light axemen look of the Red Copper figures:

You're going to have to stop this - I have more than enough to paint, but those do look really lovely...

Oh, mine were from Baueda, too, and I haven’t broken anything, yet. The quality is actually fantastic. I was referring to the very size of many details, which are spot on from the point of view of realism, but do not paint up as well as, for instance, Museum Miniatures slightly more „heroic“ (read: chubby) models, that imo paint up better.

Anyway, it’s a great range.

Really nice stuff! I’d never heard of Baueda before, I’ll need to check them out :)
